Apple opened office in Ukraine and will independently deal with the delivery and customs clearance of its own devices. This is done for two reasons: to combat "gray" products, gray imports. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhailo Fedorov.
The second reason is that Apple has finally started to consider Ukraine as a separate region. And this is very cool.
The official representative of Apple in Ukraine, ASBIS Ukraine, confirmed this information. Now large retail chains will only be able to buy goods directly from Apple, without any workarounds. However, it is not very clear how much this will affect the price of the same iPhones.
Also Apple will monitor in Ukraine the quality of consultations, which are presented in the stores of official Apple resellers. Nothing is known about the opening of offline Apple stores, but probably not soon, not this year. But for sure online services for Ukraine and in Ukrainian language will start their work.
For example, on June 28, 2021 Apple Support officially switched to Ukrainian language for Ukraine.
Here's what Nefedov himself says on his page Facebook:
Today Apple opened an official office in Ukraine. And only yesterday the company launched support in Ukrainian. These news indicate a high level of confidence in Ukraine, which strengthens our image and encourages new investments.
Apple plans to independently import equipment to Ukraine and control the stores of official dealers that provide services of the company in Ukraine.
For more than a year we have been in close cooperation with Apple both from the European and American offices. Together we plan to launch new Apple services for Ukrainian users.
We are working on adapting the Siri voice tracker to the Ukrainian language. To improve Apple Music recommendations for our users - create special features with Ukrainian speakers.
Over the last year Ukraine has made a breakthrough in the digital sphere and I am glad that international partners understand this. I am grateful to Apple for their special attention to our market.
